District Data & Stats

Data
The analysis of district data is an important element in understanding a district’s or school’s performance and effectiveness. This area of the website is intended to provide up to date data on how the Andover Public Schools is doing in particular areas. We welcome you to explore the various data reports we have posted here.

You will find several types of reports on this area of the website. Much of the information compares our performance over time to districts that are demographically similar on such measures as graduation rates, SAT results, per pupil expenditures, etc.

In Winter of 2016, a research intern from the Harvard Graduate School of Education analyzed which school districts were most comparable to Andover to develop a set of ten demographically similar comparators that we could track over time. The school districts that are most comparable to Andover are:
  • Arlington
  • Chelmsford
  • Franklin
  • Holliston
  • Natick
  • Needham
  • North Andover
  • Wellesley
  • Westwood
  • Winchester
If you would like to read the analysis that identified these communities, you can find it by clicking here.

The other reports on this site come from internal data that may not be available from other districts, such as the degree of competitiveness of the colleges our graduates attend.

In essence, the reports show that:
  1. Andover’s academic performance on graduation rates and SAT scores has been consistent over the past ten years.
  2. Andover’s standing in comparison to other districts has remained consistent over the past ten years.
  3. Andover students’ success in college has improved over the past ten years, as has the competitiveness of the colleges our graduates are attending.
We hope you find this area of the website both informative and helpful.
